Many Uploaded Images Already!

WinUp: Desktop Screen Grab Application. You can get it here!

What Does it Do?

WinUp allows you to select any area of your screen, and have that selection automatically uploaded to the Swiigle Image directory (or a directory you choose). The best part is, that the URL is automatically copied to your clipboard. Some of the feature available now include:

  1. Change Selection Area Colour
  2. View Your Recent Screen Grabs

How to use:

- Run the program

- When you want to take a screenshot, press Left Control + 1

- Your screen will dim out, now drag the mouse and select the area you wish to take a picture off

- Release mouse

- The link to the image will be in your clipboard.

  16. What is disappointing is how people don’t read the main page. It is a false positive.

  24. I LOVE this app! I’ve been so jeleous of one of my Mac using friends and his grab up, always posting nifty screen shots in our IM chats and stuff, while it took me over 5 minutes to save the image and upload it to photobucket. I tried writing something like this and I got it saving the picture and everyrhing, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it send the iage to my server. But now I don’t have to, because the app I’ve been looking for is right here. :)

  34. I’m curious as to if it is possible to have each image saved automatically to a specific directory on one’s HD?

  35. Comment by Biber — January 21, 2009
  36. I was working on a page that reads those screen shots and makes thumbs of them.
so i can manage them easily.
So after i got it done on my localhost, testing on some of my jpg images,i tried it on my upload dir on site, with WinUp screenshots.
Anyways……..it took me 2 fucking hours too see why is GD lib crashing with a message “Not a valid JPEG” when it tries to resize them.
Why did you make WinUp take PNG screens, rename them to JPG,and then upload it to server?????
I am really curious about your programming logistics.

  38. Doesn’t work with dual monitors?

Also appears to hate me having x-mouse activated (which I use to automatically bring windows to the foregound when I mouse over them).

  44. Here’s a similar app for ImageShack which supports uploading images to your account and DOESN’T REQUIRE .NET FRAMEWORK, made by yours truly

  46. Thanks Jdbye…
but how come your software that works always requires registration…
only the rickrollers and IRC bots were ever free…

swiigle: can you please give me a copy of the upload script? I wanna host my images on my own server without wasting your space, and also to find them quickly without having to check IRC logs.

  47. Comment by swiigle — June 9, 2009
  48. Should have a new version soon, with custom FTP uploading.

    Here is the upload script.

  50. Biber: lol, its called php. it can only process images properly when they’re handled as .JPG’s
all the images on my rotation script were .PNG’s, but they’re gradually being converted to JPG’s

Also, by a page that makes thumbs, I made one that works fine: http://sephi.deletableman.com/pix/
its hosted by Sephi and Deletableman of GBAtemp, and I just have FTP access to maintain the folder and upload script.
    Many thanks Swiigle.
