Updater.exe, stat_update.exe, etc. & False Virus Alerts

These are the files I use to update the programs they are included with. A few people have scanned the .exe and screamed virus. The reason some AV’s will pick the virus up is due to the packer I use. A packer is used to protect and shrink the exe. I use “MPRESS” packer. Any virus alert received from any Swiigle program is a false positive.

From now on I will release the updaters without being packed. This will remove all false positives and cut down on the amount of angry comments.

For further proof do the following.

Download and compile the source code for my Updater.exe (Get it here). Scan it. It will be clean. Then pack it with this. Scan it, and it will throw false positives.

Its that easy.

Minor bug fixes…

The default swiigle server information has changed. You may have to click “Use Default Server” in the options menu again.

Run updater in WinUp to get newest version.

Updater -> False Positive

Updater.exe is used in many of Swiigle applications. Many Anti-Virus’s will flag the Updater.exe as a virus. This is not a virus and is flagged as one due to the packer (used reduce exe size) used.

Swiigle Software respects user’s privacy and does not spread viri.

To get new version simply run the updater (right click icon > update )

If you wish to use your own server visit the help page in the program it will show you an example php file, and all you need.

New Pinger version released. This will be the last one that needs the updater. From now on I will announce when it has been updated but to aqquire the latest version you will need to run the Updater in the program.
